Now the Party Don't Start Till I Walk In

Here we have the preparations for a normal night in Pieceofcrap, Louisiana.  Or a very bad night anywhere else.

Collectively, this is the most redneck purchase Josh The Pilot and I have ever made as a couple.  The Icee is watermelon, which, I can faithfully report, is not nearly as good as blueberry.  Josh The Pilot was fascinated by the Bud Ice in tallboy form, which he had heretofore only heard about in legend and song.  I grabbed a pack of my smokes.  Then we played video poker and read The Weekly World News without paying for it.

On the balance, I'll take the normal night in Pieceofcrap.  This entire haul cost something like $3.75.

no, you cannot have any of my gummy worms at:  mbe@drinktothelasses.com

Josh, I don’t get it. If you put more of a known quantity into a merely larger container, isn’t that dangerously venturing into the logic that if one Ex-Lax works fine…?

Photo Evoked: Nostalgia for the days (long gone; never again!) when my daily Beer Run C5-A on loan from Norad would deliver two 45-oz Colt 45s (Nat. Guard parachute drops) onto my doorstep on 89th Street in Manhattan.

(Do not attempt this at home, or what Ginnie Mae alleges are homes, or on alternate Wednesdays in Louisiana, when the alligators are working the 7-11 cash registers!)

At first I was gonna yell at you 'cause I mistook that white package for cigarettes —MB smoking????— but then I paid closer attention and discovered it read "candy" ;)

PD: Josh, behold... the Mexican http://s437.photobucket.com/albums/qq95/martin_hdz1/?action=view&current=Caguama.jpg&newest=1" rel="nofollow">Caguama size. Orale!

[Also known as the "family size", 'cause that's what ALL good families do: drink beer together :-P]

It's not a redneck purchase until there's an RC cola, a couple of Moon Pies, or a thing of Skoal mixed in with the rest.

I appreciate the correction, as I believe that "a thing of Skoal" is the official ATF unit of commercial measurement for chaw.

And WTF is up with Moon Pies around here? They have 'em by the semi-trailer for Mardi Gras.

The "thing" ding reminded of a weird little unexpected comment that someone -

A recipient of prep school and Ivy League diplomas (and a residential Greenwich CT address since birth) -

made, in reaction to not being able to attend a class reuion:

"I can't. It's this work thing."

We revoked his Churchill-grant public speaking scholarship.

That's because Moon Pies are part of the Southern Food Pyramid, along with: fried (anything, because we have discovered a way to deep fry beer *tip o' the hat to Texas*), bacon, gravy, and sweet tea...all of which our gramma's had a recipe for which "would make your tongue slap your brain".
