...it is Triple Crown season, after all. If you're not hip to all that, you'll see another example of it here:

You're looking at the Kentucky Derby, no hats no songs no excuses.

whew! Off to send Sts. Cecilia and Jason a thank-you note :)

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSMChick'85

Mary Beth, did you talk to Jason? How's he doing?

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJasmine

Jasmine The Reader,

I did not talk to Your 2011 Drum Major. He walked past me a couple times, I think, but never said anything. I really don't know if he knew I was there or not; there was quite a cheering section! I did talk to David, JD, and the Campus Sister, but that's only because they approached me first. I would never walk up to any of the candidates today unless they made contact with me first. Afterwards I said hi to Josh, Alex, Stew, and Greg but left fast so they could have time with the other alums. I also saw The Badass there but he just kept on walkin. Jason was kind of busy :) and besides I think he had a lot of family and friends in town that he probably doesn't get to see as often as he'd like. He didn't need me piling on!

Before I left for tryouts today I read every single comment on here. You all got me so pumped up and excited for the day. I cannot thank you enough for your kind words of encouragement. MB, I would have loved to have talked with you, but I guess I was a little occupied :) Today was a blast and I just wanted to thank you all.

Jason

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterFlatOut

If I have to put up with an Ohio State Drum Major around here, I guess I'm glad it's you :)

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterprettyfly4awriteguy

You are VERY VERY welcome, Jason! We couldn't be happier for you.

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBelleNation

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMyKidsMom

"MB, I would have loved to have talked with you, but I guess I was a little occupied"

Good Lord, man, are you BLIND?! How is it your D-Row boyz have more sense than you in this department?

Oh, and way to strut/twirl/toss/catch. Yeah!

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterUSAFDude

holy shit he acknowledged our existence

I mean-- Great to hear from you Jason The Young! Many, many congrats and we are thrilled to have even virtually been part of your big day!

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterxyz

Awwwwwwwwww.... we love you Jason!

(Also we didn't feel like bothering with anybody new.)

But mostly, we love you, Jason!

May 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLaPage

I am pleased that my important cheering efforts did not go to waste.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterThe I-71 Cow

Mr. The Young, well done indeed. You're in and all's well. Looking forward to the YouTubeness of it all.

MB, I would have loved to have talked with you, but I guess I was a little occupied

I concur with my good friend USAF: WTF? If some watery tart throws a sword at me and makes me King of the Britons, and that is hanging around the far shore with her laptop and her glass of wine, I AM GOING TO WADE OVER AND ASK HOW HER 2.5 HOUR DRIVE FROM CINCINNATI WAS.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterF16

This guy is pure class. All the way. Double rainbow all the way.

thank YOU, Jason

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterIan

Jason, what a thrill to us to see you here. You’re extremely thoughtful to come in and say thank you. O-H-!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterGoBucks!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterYitaca

Before I left for tryouts today I read every single comment on here.

I am so honored by this. Thank YOU Jason.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterReenie

So many of us wish we could have been there, but I’m sure MB will fill us in on how awesome you were, Jason. What a lift to my day to see you here in the Tasting Room. Thank you so much for taking the time to say hello when you must have a million people clamoring at you right now.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBallroomBlitzer

Well, here’s the thing: Jason, we male The Readers have immense respect for your mad skeelz and class, a’ight? You are alpha-alpha. That's the point. And, we love to read about what you and Tink are up to because we are, frankly, living vicariously through your many empty stadium and winter session exploits. You’re 20 years old and ripped with your entire life is ahead of you, and a beautiful intelligent young lady is willing to be in your company without you having to fear seeing the backside of her hand. This is WAAAAAAYYYY more than any of us will ever HOPE to see. So do some bros a solid and give the girl a hello hug occasionally, OK? Wave from several yards away! Or, go wild-- get sloshed and pat her on the hand. Give us something.

It is surely our pleasure, Jason The Ridiculously Young Drum Major. We’re just enthralled with you and the band and have grown quite attached to this amazing guy Mary Beth has stumbled into. Lots of streamers and shattered glass here in the Tasting Room from our celebration when we heard you’d be around for a second year.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNed The Reader

it was the "Eye of the Tiger" link that put it over the top, right? Thought so.

WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU JASON!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterCasey Kasem

Many congratulations on your utter lack of loose shit, Mr. Drum Major SIR.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterE Street

Incredibly proud.... but not at all surprised :) You're the boss of Every-thang, Jason Stuckert.

He slices just like me.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterA Fuckin' Hammer

This is terrific news! We were all so hoping we'd get to keep you, Jason, and we DO!

See what happens when you ask nicely :)

So that sonic boom I heard from the general direction of Ackerman Road was you? Well that explains it :)

Couldn't be more excited, proud, or hopeful for an eve more awesome year, Jason. GO BUCKS

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterColumbusTown

Wait, so our guy put together back-to-back no-drop auditions? I take it that's somewhat unusual? :)

I should start betting some of your horses, Miss Belle.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterScola

yahooo!

I can't believe you stopped in here on such a big night, Jason The Young. It's the only thing in the world which would have made this party any better!

bwahahahaha that's awesome. Only drummajor/Tbred racing site in the whole damn world, and I like it that way.

Jason I have no doubt you were indeed "much the best." That's the highest of high compliments on the charts, btw :)

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterGottaZenyatta

Oh Jason I had my entire office asking when we'd know the results! Good thing it wasn't livestreamed or we'd all have been fired. Go, you!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterWendi The Reader

Jason Stuckert, the Official Face of + INFINITY

Ridiculously thrilled to see that you jumped into the victory celebration for a moment :) Made my day and everybody else's too!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterColson

Can we virtually carry him on our shoulders around the virtual Tasting Room yet?

I'm virtually drunk anyway. JASON THE YOUNG IS WINNING!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterVeyronBaby

(fanning self) Oh man, that wait was nervewracking. But well worth it! I let out a yell here at my desk and freaked out my dog.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterQuandoQuandoQuando

marvelous, baby, marvelous. BlondeChampagne nation never had an athlete in MB (and she will be the first to agree on this count) and so it's quite fun to root not only for a winning team, but the entire freaking Big Red Machine, the Steel Curtain, and Michael Jordan all in one.

Looking forward to more adventures and ground bounces.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTeam STEW

I would shake up and uncork a bottle of Champagne on your behalf, Jason The Drum Major, but seeing as how this would incredibly piss off our fair webmistress ("DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TIME AND CARE GO INTO GETTING THOSE BUBBLES IN THAT BOTTLE?"), I shall do so only metaphorically.

Is Sprite an acceptable substitute?

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSailor

Spectacular news, Jason. You're steering your own craft and you're going to have a wonderful year. Make it so :)

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJamison

Well done, lad! Next round's on me.

...after your birthday, of course

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHotelSierra

he came he saw he DOMINATED

We have a new hope for humanity, and it came from Ohio!

...seriously, with all the crap going on in the world, it's nice to see someone go in and just strafe it, doing what he does best :) Thank you Jason!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterFreakFlag

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I am going to permit myself to eat the remaining Easter candy in celebration. I was saving it for a time when I was sad, but I think I'd rather have it now when I'm happy!

Thanks for the excuse Jason The Repeat Drum Major!

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLaura The Reader

(cranks some Jay-Z)

If I get pulled over for violating the city noise ordinance, and I explain that I'm celebrating that a Drum Major I never met for a school I don't care about on a blog of a person I don't know has defended his title, I'm sure the cop will understand.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDoddy

If some watery tart throws a sword at me and makes me King of the Britons, and that is hanging around the far shore with her laptop and her glass of wine, I AM GOING TO WADE OVER AND ASK HOW HER 2.5 HOUR DRIVE FROM CINCINNATI WAS.

LOL!!!!

All hail our own Once and Future Drum Major. We're proud to be your sycophants :)

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTheBaron

I find this Jason Stuckert fellow's plans of world domination somewhat ambitious.

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterEmporer Napolean

Did I miss any big news?

May 11, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterDefyingGravity
