I can't hug my favorite one--my dad--so find one on his behalf, okay?

Sending a long distance hug to you. I sent a note to a vet friend who lives far away and gave him a cyber hug.

Continuing to send blessings and prayers your way. I'll hug my dad on your behalf as he is a vet too.

Well, this posed a problem, since my present-day friends have never worn the uniforms of our armed forces.

Not to worry. On the hike this afternoon, from this side of the Hudson River, I gave an especially respectful salute to the Eternal General (U.S. Grant), on a radiantly splendid fall afternoon.
