Les Freres Heureux
Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 3:50PM So here's what's been happening in the home of Julie The NephewsMama:
Oh sure, it looks cute. But you'll note that nothin' ain't gettin' by Sam The Newborn Nephew. He's got one eye on each older brother, and has probably wrapped his knuckles in foil beneath his fuzzy suit. He'll need it.
"It's a baby!" Will The Smaller Child Nephew announced when Sam was first carried into the house, as though this were the first he'd heard about it. Jim The Child Nephew, meanwhile, no fool he, is wondering just how long this is going to go on: "Sam's still here," he said in dubious tones when his mother handed him the phone last week. I tried to speak to Sam as well, but he was not receiving callers. Will, however, was: "HI AUNT BETH!" he shouted into the handset.
"That's the first time I heard him do that," his mother reported. "Usually he just stands there and looks at the receiver and then hands it back." Not a phone man, the middle child. Probably because it's a security risk. He must keep his plans secret until the proper time. I'm thinking middle school.

LOLing at Sam's carefully planned casual-looking pose that allows him to kick his older brother in the chin —if the need arises. You can never be too careful when you're the younger one; I should know ;)
Em're some pretty cute nephews ya got therr.
Don't blink - they'll be in college (Notre Dame?) before you know it!
Congrats on the newest addition to the family!
Very cute. I can only imagine what is going through all thier heads.
I've been meaning to ask, is Sam named after anyone? (I happened to be at a lecture on the Lincoln assasination the other night and nearly gasped when they showed the tombstone of Dr. Samuel Alexander Mudd. I was like, oh hell no, Julie and Country, knowing full well they'd have to survive your wrath if they intentionally named him after the infamous Dr. Mudd.) Anyway, I've been wondering?
Nope, they just liked the name. (Although... I'm not so sure anymore...)
Maybe they're really big fans of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRVm_TAE24A&feature=related" rel="nofollow">Pulp Fiction? :-P
Oh, MB, how DARLING!
And you just have to wonder about the view from Sam's perspective: two GIGNORMOUS older brothers, with wicked glints in their eyes (carefully concealed from Mama Bear), getting ready to teach him all the cuss words he will ever want to know...
And I think his name is very strong, no matter what Aunt Kel says. ;)
Carah,
I think it is a very strong name. I love it. I was just concerned about the origin. Perhaps, RPJ is right and is it Pulp Fiction or maybe, mama Julie and Dad Country just liked it.
They are actually two of my favorite names.
